We would like to take this opportunity to announce that the band is going to be playing two shows in the next upcoming couple of weeks and if you had the good fortune to pick up tickets to Brand New’s sold-out show at the House of Blues in Atlantic City you’ll be able to see one of them. That’s right we’ll be opening for Brand New in Atlantic City on November 26th. We’ll go on second (after O’Brother and right before Brand New) at around 9:45pm so if you want to see us and you we’re planning on showing up just for Brand New, you might want to show just a little bit earlier to catch our set. So that’s one!
The second show is on December 9th in York, PA, at the Depot (360 W. Cottage Street). It will be our last headlining show of the year we’ll have Oceans In Love and Reservoir opening up for us. It should be a great time. There’s only one catch though… it’s 18+ (sorry, minors). So if you’re of voting age and you wanted to come out and hear us play some songs from our new album mixed in with a bunch of our classics you should definitely try and make it out.
You can go to Mission Tix to purchase tickets.
Wether it’s Aaron quietly closing a show with Sisters of Mercy, the band jamming into Big Mouth Strikes Again or going under a fake name to play select “Blue Album” / “Pinkerton” Weezer songs, you may have noticed that in the recent years mewithoutYou has acquired an affinity for cover songs. And although you can find pretty much all that stuff on the YouTubes and Internets the band has never actually released any covers. Well, as Dylan once said, “the times they are a-changin’.”
You may or may not have heard that Nirvana’s seminal record, “Nevermind,” turned 20 years old this year on September 24th. To commemorate this milestone Jim Sampras asked us to record a version of “In Bloom” for a tribute record called “Come As You Are.” At first we just approached the song by just playing it like it is on the record. But eventually we settled on something much more unique; turned it on its head, personalized it. If you’re familiar with the song its pretty significant departure from the original. Still, it’s pretty cool, but probably not as cool as this cover though.
