The Key Session Interview

Originally when we announced  the WXPN Key Session we had planned to premiere the performances of three hot new songs from our new album. We also announced that it would be hitting the internet on December 14th. Well here we are a week late and sadly we are not premiering any full performances of new material. When the band got the audio and video back, they we’re not as hot the performances as we had hoped they would be; they were actually kind of cold. Simply put, they didn’t sound great and weren’t prepared to put out anything less than that. But we we’re able to salvage some of the performances and you can hear some snippets of the stuff mixed in with the interview the band shot. We’re sorry its not more, but we think it should whet your appetites just enough.

Here’s a link to the full Key Session:

Also we’d like to offer a shout-out to John Vettese for putting a lot of hard work and energy into putting this thing together. Word’em up, Vettese.

A Message from Aaron

Concerning the Troubadour Show on December 15th:

peace to you and hello,

thank you to everyone who responded to our offer to come play onstage in L.A. tomorrow. Unfortunately, we aren’t able to say yes to everyone…We had around 40 replies, far too many to fit on the Troubadour’s modestly sized stage. Plus, the promoters limited how many folks I could get in for free (for which, of course, I don’t blame them in the least). The result is we’ve got about 15 folks planning to play tomorrow, who were chosen based on a few factors (how quickly they responded, what instrument they play, how familiar they seemed to be with our songs, etc.). I’ve contacted them with a few e-mails with all the details, setlist, chords, etc.) So, if you’re not on that list of folks I e-mailed, I’m afraid the invitation for you to play tomorrow no longer stands. I say this in hopes that no one drives a great distance with an instrument but without a ticket, hoping to find me & get in for free – my guest list is already maxed out (and then some). Our loving gratitude to everyone who responded, and apologies that there’s not room for everyone. Please have a wonderful night, whatever you’re up to.

Thank you again, Aaron W.

You Could Join Aaron on Stage

The following is is a message from Aaron:

Hello – I’d like to invite anyone who’s interested & capable to bring their (preferably) non-electrical instruments (e.g., horns, strings, woodwind, percussion, accordion) and join me on stage at the Troubadour this Thursday, December 15. The only songs of ours I’m probably going to do are acoustic-guitar & melody based (i.e., not old songs with shouting vocals), plus maybe a cover or two; if anyone takes me up on this, we can choose a set list based on whichever of  those-type-of-songs everyone is prepared to play. I’m hoping of course for some degree of musical competency from whoever might join me (as after all, folks are paying money for the show…we’d like it to not be disastrous). but you don’t have to be a bona fide professional, just solid at your instrument and thoroughly familiar with the song(s) you’ll play on. If you don’t have a ticket, don’t worry: I can likely get you in for free, especially if you’re a good player.

We made up a temporary e-mail account for this very purpose. If you’ll be taking part, kindly let us know:

Aaron’s Acoustic Set for Invisible Children

With the holiday seasons fast approaching our favorite non-profit, Invisible Children, is putting on two nights of benefit shows to raise money.  The first night is curated by Pete Wentz and Alternative Press Magazine and the other is curated by Alexandra Pasavas. She picks all of the music for TV shows and films like Twilight, Mad Men, Grey’s Anatomy, Gossip Girl, Private Practice, etc. So its very flattering that Pete Wentz and AP have selected our very own, Aaron Weiss for the gig. He’ll be playing mostly stuff from “It’s All Crazy! It’s All False…” and maybe even playing a couple new songs.

The show will be at the Troubadour in Los Angeles on December 15th and 16th, but if you’re going to see Aaron he’s only playing the first night on the 15th. Be sure to get your tickets soon as they are sure to sell out.
