So here we are… almost a year since we first premiered February, 1878 on Paste Magazine’s website. Usually music videos come out when a band is pushing a new album. And admittedly we are WAY later on getting this out than we had planned (Hey, give us a break we’ve never had to do this stuff on our own before). But maybe its timing is perfect. Because as we reach the anniversary of this song’s premiere, we can look back and reflect all on that’s happened. We self-released our fifth record, “Ten Stories,” with greater success than we could’ve imagined (Thank you!). We’ve driven all over the country and flown across the world. We got to play with bands we never thought we’d get the chance to play with. We’ve added a new member to the group, Brandon Beaver, who’s added a whole other dimension to our sound. And not to get too sappy here but we’ve grown closer, we’ve learned a lot of lessons, some of us have brought new life into the world, some of us have found love. Needles to say it was a banner year for our band and the best part about is that we were able to do it together. We like to think that this little 4 minutes of candid footage is a reflection of that time. So with that please enjoy our new music video for February, 1878.
Naturally you can stream and share this video from our YouTube page. But if you would like to download this video in HD quality we are offering a DRM-free version of the video HERE. All we ask is for a donation of your choice ($1 minimum). Producing our own music videos has proven to be more costly and more time-consuming than maybe we had anticipated. So we are hoping with your donations that we will be able to budget more wisely in the future which will of course allow us to bring you more cool stuff. No pressure though.
Last week the band got together a couple days after finishing out the first leg of our Summer Tour over to start assembling the first 2,000 copies of the Ten Stories Deluxe Box Sets. We had a day of set up and prep and then another two solid days of assembly and then another solid day of transportting and shipping the goods to Red Eye Distribution down in Haw River. All-in-all it was a full week of work just getting those first initial 2,000 sets out the door and there’s another 2,000 left to assemble and ship out. Which will be happening as soon as the next shipment of the actual boxes for the box sets arrive.
We’d like to thank all our friends who graciously volunteered their time in helping put these together and also to some that helped facilitate the shipping and receiving :
DJ Robinson, Jill Robinson, KJ Wagner, Mike Bachich, Brian Dwyer, Joe Hunter, Adam Malliet, Leann Gorman, Jess Hong, Scotty Krueger, Matt Chapin, Stephen Landis, Aziza Weiss, Daniel Pilger, Nate Wissler, Timmy Grant, Craig Almquist, Meg Lemiur, Nic Justice
There’s even more on the way, but we only have a couple hundred left unsold. Scoop’em up while you can over on our online store: http://mewithoutyou.11spot.com/index.php?fuseaction=item_cat.ecom_superitem_detail&item_cat_id=7166
If you’ve pre-ordered a Compact Disc of Ten Stories then chances are most of you have already received your copy. Which is awesome, right? However, if you’ve pre-ordered an LP of Ten Stories I regret to inform you that we are running behind due to a major set back a couple weeks ago. When the first test pressings came in they didn’t quite cut the mustard. So we had to go back, get the album re-mastered to 24-bit files, get the the lacquer recut and get new plates and stampers made. Woo! Man… making records can be complicated at times. At that point we knew we weren’t going to be able to make the LPs and CD launch on the same day, but we figured its better to have a late LP than a poor sounding one. After all its only gonna be late once and now it can sound good forever. So stick tight with those bad boys. Don’t worry they are coming. I’m actually listening to the 2nd Test Pressing of the Standard LP right now and about to approve it with our production manager. Its the difference of night and day. So I think we made a good call.
There’s also been a lot of questions as to when the Deluxe Box Sets will ship. A lot of people think they are shipping tomorrow or have already shipped. This is not the case. We still don’t have all the pieces of the Box Set in our hands right now. We are still waiting on a majority of the pieces to come in. They should all be in the next couple weeks but we will be out on tour. So they’ll ship to Philadelphia but no one will be there to put them together and when I say put them together I mean just that. The sleeves and LPs come from one place, the 7 inches come from another, the CDs, Posters, Booklets all come from different places. So when all the parts are in we have to assemble them by hand and ship them off ourselves. It should be a couple days of work at least. So we are working hard to get all this stuff out there to our fans who have helped us make this pre-order a success. Look for the majority of those to ship at the end of June. Don’t worry it’ll be worth it.
Right now we are all anxious counting down to when our new album “Ten Stories” is officially unleashed upon the world. Starting at midnight Eastern Standard Time (we’re from Philly after all) we will have Digital Downloads available to all the world exclusively from our website through a simple PayPal transaction. For all your early adopters who pre-ordered the CD, the LP, or the Box Set you will be receiving an email later tonight with instructions on how to get your Digital Download. It won’t be complicated. You will get an email with a link to a “secret page” where you’ll be able to enter your email address. From there you should be able to download your digital copy of Ten Stories. Its gonna be exciting.
BUY LOCAL
For all you who didn’t pre-order the new album, if you live in the US or Canada and want to get a physical copy of Ten Stories, we strongly urge you to go ou and pick up the CD at an independent retailer tomorrow. We think record stores are super important when it comes to healthy appreciation of music. Click the button below and see where you can pick up a copy nearest you. If you’re not near an indie store our Ten Stories will also be available in Best Buys around the country as well. Its not independent but it is what is and we appreciate the support anyway we can get it (after all we did ship 1,200 copies to them) and you shouldn’t feel bad in anyway if this is your only option.

Did pre-order Ten Stories from our web store and are now waiting in anticipation for the instant download on May 15th? Have you been on the fence about the band since the direction of the last album? Did you not know the album leaked last week? Are you in America? Do you have Spotify? If you answered “Yes” to any of these questions you are in luck. Starting today you can stream our entire new album “Ten Stories” only on Spotify!
Don’t have Spotify? Go Here to download the app on and then just sign in with your Facebook account. Its really easy and its also a cool way to discover new music. Also… we were not paid to say that. So that’s saying something. But you know what does pay us (and subsequently keeps the band afloat)? Buying the album! And good news too because now with the invention of the internet you don’t even have to leave your room to buy records anymore. Just head over to http://mewithoutyou.11spot.com to order a copy of the CD, the LP, or our snazzy Deluxe Box Set.
If you want to hear a new song from “Ten Stories” (May 15th) then head over to Filter Magazine to get your first listen of “East Enders Wives.” This is one of the more moody and ominous tracks off the new record. It tells the tale of a runaway rabbit and his love affair with a lusty soothsayer. No seriously. That’s what its about. It also features some haunting female vocals courtesy of Aimee Wilson. Also notice the amazing artwork done by Vasily Kafanov. This painting and 14 others are included in the Ten Stories – Box Set over at our merch store.
