So here we are… almost a year since we first premiered February, 1878 on Paste Magazine’s website. Usually music videos come out when a band is pushing a new album. And admittedly we are WAY later on getting this out than we had planned (Hey, give us a break we’ve never had to do this stuff on our own before). But maybe its timing is perfect. Because as we reach the anniversary of this song’s premiere, we can look back and reflect all on that’s happened. We self-released our fifth record, “Ten Stories,” with greater success than we could’ve imagined (Thank you!). We’ve driven all over the country and flown across the world. We got to play with bands we never thought we’d get the chance to play with. We’ve added a new member to the group, Brandon Beaver, who’s added a whole other dimension to our sound. And not to get too sappy here but we’ve grown closer, we’ve learned a lot of lessons, some of us have brought new life into the world, some of us have found love. Needles to say it was a banner year for our band and the best part about is that we were able to do it together. We like to think that this little 4 minutes of candid footage is a reflection of that time. So with that please enjoy our new music video for February, 1878.

All we ask is for a donation of your choice ($1 minimum). Producing our own music videos has proven to be more costly and more time-consuming than maybe we had anticipated. So we are hoping with your donations that we will be able to budget more wisely in the future which will of course allow us to bring you more cool stuff. No pressure though.

There’s also been a lot of questions as to when the Deluxe Box Sets will ship. A lot of people think they are shipping tomorrow or have already shipped. This is not the case. We still don’t have all the pieces of the Box Set in our hands right now. We are still waiting on a majority of the pieces to come in. They should all be in the next couple weeks but we will be out on tour. So they’ll ship to Philadelphia but no one will be there to put them together and when I say put them together I mean just that. The sleeves and LPs come from one place, the 7 inches come from another, the CDs, Posters, Booklets all come from different places. So when all the parts are in we have to assemble them by hand and ship them off ourselves. It should be a couple days of work at least. So we are working hard to get all this stuff out there to our fans who have helped us make this pre-order a success. Look for the majority of those to ship at the end of June. Don’t worry it’ll be worth it.

Right now we are all anxious counting down to when our new album “Ten Stories” is officially unleashed upon the world. Starting at midnight Eastern Standard Time (we’re from Philly after all) we will have Digital Downloads available to all the world exclusively from our website through a simple PayPal transaction. For all your early adopters who pre-ordered the CD, the LP, or the Box Set you will be receiving an email later tonight with instructions on how to get your Digital Download. It won’t be complicated. You will get an email with a link to a “secret page” where you’ll be able to enter your email address. From there you should be able to download your digital copy of Ten Stories. Its gonna be exciting.

For all you who didn’t pre-order the new album, if you live in the US or Canada and want to get a physical copy of Ten Stories, we strongly urge you to go ou and pick up the CD at an independent retailer tomorrow. Its not independent but it is what is and we appreciate the support anyway we can get it (after all we did ship 1,200 copies to them) and you shouldn’t feel bad in anyway if this is your only option.

CONCERNING PRE-ORDERS
If you’ve pre-ordered a Compact Disc of Ten Stories then chances are most of you have already received your copy. Which is awesome, right? However, if you’ve pre-ordered an LP of Ten Stories I regret to inform you that we are running behind due to a major set back a couple weeks ago. When the first test pressings came in they didn’t quite cut the mustard. So we had to go back, get the album re-mastered to 24-bit files, get the the lacquer recut and get new plates and stampers made. Woo! Man… making records can be complicated at times. At that point we knew we weren’t going to be able to make the LPs and CD launch on the same day, but we figured its better to have a late LP than a poor sounding one. After all its only gonna be late once and now it can sound good forever. So stick tight with those bad boys. Don’t worry they are coming. I’m actually listening to the 2nd Test Pressing of the Standard LP right now and about to approve it with our production manager. Its the difference of night and day. So I think we made a good call.

If you want to hear a new song from “Ten Stories” (May 15th) then head over to Filter Magazine to get your first listen of “East Enders Wives.” This is one of the more moody and ominous tracks off the new record. It tells the tale of a runaway rabbit and his love affair with a lusty soothsayer. No seriously. That’s what its about. It also features some haunting female vocals courtesy of Aimee Wilson. Also notice the amazing artwork done by Vasily Kafanov. This painting and 14 others are included in the Ten Stories – Box Set over at our merch store.

We are still limited to the quantities we can make of these, because they cost a TON of money to make (money we don’t have yet) and they’re gonna take a lot of effort to assemble them. That being said if we sell out again we’ll try to make more  of these in the near future but right now we’ve hit our limit in terms of  production cost.Here’s a complete list of the new specs on this package:

Good news! The pre-sale has been a hugely successful so far and in less than 24 hours we sold out of all Deluxe Box Sets. We initially thought 1,000 of these Deluxe Box Sets we’re going to last us the 5 weeks leading up to the street date. So when they started to fly like hot cakes on Tuesday we thought to ourselves “Man, we should’ve made more.” But we weren’t going to do that. To say a pressing is limited to a 1,000 and then bump up that number just to sell more copies, we felt would’ve been a disingenuous move . “You live and you learn. Next time we’ll do more.”

But as it turns our online merch company is working with somewhat of an antiquated system where they have to manually pull down items in the store if they get too close to their stock limit. Long story short the guys who handle our online sales weren’t able to pull the Deluxe Box Sets from the store in time and oversold them by 265 copies. So we we’re left with the choices Refund those 265 orders or Order more. It seems clear that there is a demand for this product and we don’t want to bum anyone out who already think they’re getting Deluxe Box Set in June only to be told they aren’t. So today we made some calls to the manufacturers today and bumped up all our orders by an additional 1,000. Which works out better for our costs cause we hit certain price breaks at that amount. So really everybody wins here except for  the people who think 1,000 copies is cooler than 2,000 copies. For that we are sorry but they’ll probably get over it, right? And if exclusivity is really your concern then you can rest easy knowing that this time when we say 2,000 copies we mean 2,000 copies. So back on the table are another 500 Icy Blue and another 500 Audiophile Black.
